Forever In Your Heart

She stood there,
all in her morning glory,
adorned with a smile,

Soft cotton tendrils,
flowed down her body,
her heart was bare,

What words would she speak?,
none that could raise the dead,
she thought in silence,

Wishing what was, to be again,
the pain, the heartache,
not one word escaped her lips,

to be written, typed,
or spoken, sent,
could change his heart,

If there was only one spark,
dimly left, slowly burning,
inside his darkness,

Her spirit could stir,
roam about like a whirlwind,
breathing oxygen,

Another sun goes down,
endless nights of woe,
she cries herself to sleep,

Dreaming of silvertongue love,
wrapped gifts of paragraphs,
nothing makes her happy,

Only the hope of hearing
your footsteps,
treading across,

her heart once more!
