This stoic countenance is but a veil That shrouds my yearning heart; it keeps a pace Which reveals not the roiling 'neath the mail, Nor this death I live, unknowst to thy face. Oh, uncage the caged passions of my heart! Rove thy kisses wild! - Only thou this gate Shall breach; only thou shall break apart The mortar and the stone -- else let the Fate Unchanged prevail and stay me in my Keep - So what of the moat that holds but cremains Of the past, settling ever in the deep? -- When above a bridge, drawn to thy domains: Then breathe a kiss onto my soul, thy breath The envoy of the life that kills this death.
