Contrails & Geese Look up to the heavens between after work and dusk when trails cross from east to west and contrails are the only sign of varying miles, ways, nay, waves of travel when Kansas becomes a cross-roads whether in plane, train or newly designed keyless entry mechanized horses that gallop smoothly… there is then a north, south, east and west when it comes to Kansas. Contrails tell tales. Converging, one wonders is anyone listening? And they are. They must be, because planes veer off into different directions over Kansas. Onlookers watch as contrails meld their selves back into blue sky and horizon then watchers eye those skies as birds redirect flight beating wings north and south with whatever spring might bring and too often we’ve seen confusion with geese, and realize, only if we look up that winter will return for some moment in time. Look to the heavens, watch the contrails to wonder and ponder what people might know. So little. So little. The geese know better. © KRJ April 2, 2008 |

me likey.. come to think of it, i've never quite understood what those things in the sky were ripples in time? vestiges of some cruel goverment cover-up? something having to do with the magnetic field ? yeah. right. |

I love to watch the contrails and how they slowly fade, dear Karilea. This is a wonderful read, holding a touch of mystery that I enjoy. Love, Margherita |

Contrails are the creative enterprise of humankind---mechanical flight. I love the contrast with geese which are living, flying machines! A wonderful poem. Art |

Karilea, I love this and especially like the keyless entr mechannized horse....I love to watch those trails on a summers day and wonder where the occupants of the craft have been or where they are going....John |
