Felix always was good at counting money. He opened his own back account when he was sixteen. He just walked in, flipped a “c” note down, and opened an account. The teller didn’t ask where the “c” note came from. The teller knew where the “c” note came from. It always was a close neighborhood. Felix always did have an eye out for his future. Algebra was his favorite subject in tenth grade. He liked the logic of it, and his teacher, Miss. Saucerman liked him. She always did like a guy with a strong chin. Miss. Saucerman helped him along. She arranged an orphan’s scholarship for him at the University of Pennsylvania when he graduated. It was just a short El, and subway surface car ride from home. Bobby |

Wonderful story. Most teachers have great hearts. They teach, guide and mentor. Sometimes they care students like parents. I respect them. And Felix was lucky to have a very good one. Enjoyed the read. |

Seoulair, Thanks so much for the read. Miss. Saucerman saved my life, and gave me a new one. Of course she's long dead now. I could never forget her kindness. She was a peach. Bobby [This message has been edited by Robert E. Jordan (03-28-2008 07:33 PM).] |

wonderful Bobby... and don't worry I'm not going to ask what a 'c' note is because I already know Felix told me in one of his other poems... I'm smart like Felix, I remembered it here... What a nice teacher he had too! love RDB Be kind at heart....for everyone you meet has their own battle to fight......... |

Dear RDB, Yes, Miss Saucerman was a great teacher. It's good you know what a "C" note is. It's surprising how much street lingo comes down to us from the ancients. You stick with Felix, and he’ll have you wearing diamonds as big as horse—-well, you know whats. Bobby [This message has been edited by Robert E. Jordan (03-28-2008 09:54 PM).] |
