The Most Exciting Thing in My Life

It’s a bit hard to tell as I look back what has been the most exciting thing,
For as we go through each stage in life the more exciting moments cling.
I remember when I went to school, it was down behind the shelter shed
Where this young girl and I were acting strange but need any more be said.

It was a most exciting time, it’s so long ago now t’would seem
But then off went the clock’s alarm, it was just another wishful dream,
Then came the time I met my wife, excitement then was great,
And when I asked to take her home, it was then she sealed my fate.

I remember well the day she said, “ I’m expecting a papoose,”
Excitement then was at it’s peak tho’ it was the first loop in the noose,
The day that our little girl was born was a day I’ll not forget,
She was the first to fill the bill on the target we had set.

Then another day a few years hence the wife said to me, “ hey Lins”
I’ve just got back the Doc’s report, he said we are having twins.
To say I was excited would be the understatement of the year,
I’d have to work much harder now, so I sat down and had a beer.

Then came the day that we took off on our first trip around the world,
The flag of joy we flew that day was the one that flew unfurled.
It really was a dream come true after ten years of wedded bliss
And if we lived our life again it’s one thing I would not miss.

The day that our Michelle was born was excitement hard to beat,
Another eighteen months had passed when Yvonne made our clan complete.
Each one event has brought much joy and if I may be so bold,
I’d say that having five great kids is worth more than all the gold.

Another day of great excitement was when we opened up our Maze,
To see the public pouring through was one of our happiest days,
But I know that I’d be in trouble and weighted down with strife,
If I didn’t say the most exciting thing was the day I met my wife.

Good fortune has to me been kind and to God full thanks I give
And I realize just how lucky I’ve been to this time in history live,
There’s been many things throughout my life that’s made me feel so glad
And I’m sure it’s most important when the good outweighs the bad.

To Roniece, Alison, James, John, Margherita, Ida and Sunshine, I always feel that just saying thank you for your generous responses does not fully show the sense of appreciattion that I feel towards all you wonderful friends, but thanks and thanks again. It's having folks like you responding that makes writing poetry so much more enjoyable. Love to you all and have a great day.

Lindsay.
My computer has been giving me problems of late and I haven't been able to respond for a few days.
