alley of sun temptation

we never had been there before
at least we didn't remember
not to the degree we did then
when we were accidentally taken

and you told me of your urges
that kept you awake some days
until you took them in hand
and put them in the dream tree

I showed you my collection too
of hand prints on wanting things
just inches away from silver bullets
with remote control attachments

we smiled some mornings more slowly
with voices we danced in thorn trees
and sipped drive through willings
like my whiskey and your liquor

while just praying for whirlwinds
