Magenta Velvet ~*Marge Tindal*~ There is a velvet to the twilight sky that caresses the coming of night Cloaked in magenta's soft beauty awaiting the twinkle of stars-in-light~ Soft velvet stairs to the welkin gate hold sweet dreams-in-waiting wish Gentle the movement of moon-in-phase across the ebon in galactic swish~ There is a velvet to the morning that cuddles the meadow in dew Moisturized wishes now granted in the dawning of love-in-renew~ There is a velvet to the heartbeat of lovers in union of morn Poems are made in the gentle-of-night to be shared on the dawn newly-born~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Marge, With or without the twinkling stars, I'd have to say this is one of my favorites you've written, if not my favorite. It's breathtaking. There are some poems that flow effortlessly when I read them, yet I don't linger upon the words. Still, I think they're very good. When a poem flows effortlessly and it controls the speed with which I read, slowing me down to inhale the essence, I call that great! Yours did just that! A keeper! miscellanea |

I thank you all so much for letting me share a little of my thoughts with you~ I recall the morning that I originally wrote this one ... out on the patio with my second morning cup of coffee ... the words, "there is a velvet to the morning" kept flying around me ... I captured it and let it write itself to the page~ Appreciating all replies ...~ Miscellanea~ What a lovely, lovely compliment ... thank you~ Effortlessly is JUST THE WAY IT CAME TO ME~ **I just peeked in the archives ... this is what I wrote on the original poem** quote:*Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ Email - [email protected] |
