As I Lay Here

As I lay here in despair
Thinking about what you just said
I feel as if I am flying through air
Wondering if I should go to bed

I cannot truly believe
Those words came from you
Now wondering if I am able to retrieve
This feeling from you, I hope it’s soon

But I know that you are unable
So I just lay here in bed
Thinking about what you put on this table
Wondering if I should just be dead

But now that I think about it
You are not worth the trouble
I laugh here as I sit,
and say “I hope there is never a double!”
