Wonderful Rain Grey clouds lie low to yield wonderful rain to fall and grant me the sky's secrets unsealed translation fuzzy and all Wishes go like vapor in your hand can't keep a perfect moment or ever wring out all the good in demand but maybe we can rent Picture and song plant inside a little light to enjoy a smiling girl is the father's pride a brave boy is a mother's joy Wonderful rain I'm looking at the painting and drawing from it wonderful rain small comforts to be gained Love belongs in everyone in every open soul even when one is alone and lonely hope of love can fill the hole Wonderful rain awakening from dreams to the scent of wonderful rain giving all my hopes a name A man need not kneel to receive life's blessings transcendent rain will make you feel like you can do anything Look and find in the grey wonderful rain to fall a secular baptism to wash all fear away so you can walk tall "Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite and I don't know why" -- Van Morrison, 'Sweet Thing' |
