Between the Lines

There are moments that enlighten,
that can still the fears of day,
that can silence all those empty thoughts
and rise to words that stray

Upon a screen of background blue
between the lines of gray.
It's there sometimes, a song is sung,
to rhythm friendship's play.

And so this day is likened to
a day, despite the rain,
when dampness dries unto a sheen
beneath the cloud's refrain.

There, where letters form the words
and minutes fill the time,
messages of friendship hold
the thoughts behind the rhyme.

A fine thoughtful and thought-filled ‘write’!...

I am especially fond of:

“There are moments that enlighten,

AND:

“where letters form the words
