You stack your hearts so carelessly And when they tumble down You break some more, just as before As crooked as your crown You promise diamonds, but in the end Your lies are dealt in spades Not up to par, they know you are A master of charades You once did know, long ago A heart you couldn't win The coin was tossed, the bet was lost And all to your chagrin Of humble name, she set to claim Your diamonds, heart, and jewels And when she did, farewell she bid The King of Hearts, and fools You are you say, to much dismay As noble as your crest But all that jazz, is empty as The heart inside your chest The grin you wear, without a care Makes hearts all over scatter The diamonds you lend, are only pretend The hit the floor and shatter You waged an all out war on hearts And to the victor went the spoils Leaving only crazy eights And a pair or two of royals Your opponents have already lost When the game has just begun They forget that every hand you've held Is a game that you have won In a round of pool they stand a chance They may even win at darts But you conquer in the game of love Because you are the King of Hearts [This message has been edited by Jess (08-19-2007 03:25 AM).] |

I really like it, very emotional and something that many people can easily connect to. |

Wonderful, Jess! I loved the flow of this as well as the clever play on thoughts and words. Really well done, much enjoyed this! Best wishes, /Kit |
