Since the weight of it Is no different to memory There is a lambent sense Of being back in school That determined Young veteran on the GI Bill Marching his way Through college courses To a new though not surely Braver world With autumn leaves Drifting down On gilded roofs Where tomorrow Would be certainly Better than before Especially though Now invisible He still can feel Near where medals used to be A letter from his girl . |
