I hear it calling to me It’s the sea With moonlight rising over And starlight I hear the pounding in me Of the sea Waves after waves on the sand And I stand I smell the calling to me Salt in wind Longing to be out sailing In it all But no I’ve other places to go Things to do, people to sea Places to be come daylight Events to cause beginning And none of it Rides freely driven by the wind. ‘powerful’ imagery!: I hear it calling to me…. It’s the sea…. pounding in me…” and, I am especially fond of the ending: “I smell the calling to me Salt in wind Longing to be out sailing In it all But no I’ve other places to go Things to do…. Events to cause…. And none of it Rides freely driven by the wind.” long-sustained applause!! |
