you half-crawl half-run through your world
on all fours, wide-eyed,
mouth wide open,
tasting
everything.

tupperware, my rayon pants, your grandpa's dog,
the laundry basket:
you categorize it all by flavor.

my son,
a soul after my own,
this is life:

take big bites.
