We Sobered Up

                Eve was amused, but confused

at Howard's attempts to schmooze without his muse

didn't he hear the news?

             that each of them felt the bruise

of knowing that some other pair of shoes

was more than willing to cruise into the other person's life

but Eve refused to become somebody else's wife

              only Howard didn't know it

and continued to lose believing that he had only given Eve strife

                      when in truth

Eve liked his booze

but she still needed a little more of his Jack Daniel's

                        to infuse

                       her courage

                                                                    love,

                                                                    an innocent bystander

This is an interesting poem. Shows what happens when you drink. hows what happens when your sober. I enjoyed the read!!!
