carnival rolls

A carnival rolls on
Blocked roads
Stalled window of mostly deserted bus
Colorful vista.
Their gifts of cheap laughter
Their way of stooping to gather
Sacred sweets thrown…
Even odor of body
More fragrant.
A road assorted with mirth, glee, poison, and smell
I came down
Greet me with suspicion and glances
Till I tear open my costume
I am a human
Just like everyone .
