Faith, God. doubt

Waves

Awash in a sea of uncertainty.
Battered by waves of confusion.
Lord how will I know? On what point does it turn?
I feel lost, as if I am surrounded by darkness.
I cannot find a path that is sure.
The tide pulls me both to the left and to the right.
The truth plays hide and seek among the waves.
I see it in my mind, but it’s gone the same instant.
I hold it in my heart, and it’s there for eternity.
How can my mind know that which only my heart can hold?
