January Sky Kisses

The sky is conch shell pink (could be dusty rose or mauve
I don’t know). I simply know that it is pretty in the soft chiffon
winter look that the nothing wears as well as the sky.

My mind wanders this early Saturday morning,
half dressed, I sip coffee while words dance with images
It seems to be the belle of the ball and doesn’t stay long
on any single thought – so I just enjoy the show as it dips and flits.
Lazy moments waltz as the song of the fan and quiet meld in harmony

Tree branches lower icy tips shyly as the sweetness of the clouds
drop confectionary kisses to smooth their sharp needles
and January whispers a soft good morning and turns the day blue.
