"Life Eternal" To live a life eternal And fear not death or pain To ne'er grow old, to never die To never hurt again Eternal youth and beauty Unmarred by passing Time To some it would be paradise To others, but a crime But with this gift comes sorrow As those you know must die To lose the ones you've come to love No matter how you try Would sadness overcome you? The pain of loss, so strong In vain you curse your mourning self For living quite so long AMdG "My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--it gives a lovely light!" -Edna St. Vincent Millay |

Arius Miura de Galdri, Nicely written. However, one can never live too long. Life is way too short. Bobby |

I must disagree with the comment above - though it's merely an opinion. You can live too long, if in fact what makes life worth living is no longer with you. If you no longer have anything to live for, if you no longer enjoy life and realize that there is no way out but death, then yes you can live too long. The normal person, though, cannot live too long. Life is, for most people, way too short to think of yesterday, or to mourn the death of others. Celebrate their memory, and live life in honor of the ones that you love. All in all this was a very good poem, and I enjoyed reading it a lot. Very good job "Love is attained not merely through the sight, touch, or any of the senses; but through time." |
