Who Created God |

One day I asked a religious person: Who created God? Predictably, the answer was: no one. It is generally assumed that “God” must of necessity precede creation since the title of “Creator” is also ascribed to this entity. Everything comes from something else. That is how it is with nature. If “God” exists entirely outside nature, what kind of being is that? How can it know anything about life if it manifests outside of life? Are we just toys or trinkets in the hands of some cosmic child? Are we mindless automatons that some creators made to serve them? Yes, I know what religious books say, and I know what preachers add to it all. And I also know what the results of their thoughts have been on this world. I have experienced the love of religion and that’s an “ouch!” I have had “friends” who insisted I needed to be “saved” and have my sins forgiven – but discovered my “sins” were less evil than the collective ways of any Saviours. Obviously – this is no big trick to know – “God” is the “Big Stick” invented by psychopaths to beat up on people they are not able to outsmart in the real world. |

There are questions in our hearts that will never receive satisfying replies, because our human minds can't probably even conceive total truth regarding the origin of Universe/s … it's simply beyond our understanding as is the concept of God. Laws of Physics have undergone change along the history of men's knowledge/scientific evolution …we possess scientific proof for very few things. The question marks can never be removed in any of these deep doubts that accompany our lives. The philosophic research of course is fascinating and we won't ever stop to search for the truth. It's an individual path too … no one has certainties, but everyone has probably personal views and "experiences" which we should respect. I think the only correct attitude in these fields is humbleness … I'd like to conclude with Shakespeare's words in his Hamlet: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." For me, God is Love, no beginning, no end. One day hopefully there will be clarity also for the mind, besides the soul's awe-inspiring perceptions. love Margherita |

The historic record is assuredly clear...amid the cry of "It's God's Will!" and under the organizing banners of one 'ism' or another, the proponents of 'religions' have committed and (and continue to commit) the grandest atrocities which have left the most widespread, lasting, and unconscionable wake of damage to humanity! Particle physicists and Cosmologists know that any level of pattern/complexity and structure (even cells, multicellular organisms, and human brains) can 'self-organize' and evolve out of 'chaos' by the normal repetitive operation of Nature's fundamental laws and processes without the need to postulate 'conscious design' (godlike intent) behind their origin: Cosmic Evolution: /pip/Forum104/HTML/003388.html [This message has been edited by secondhanddreampoet (01-12-2008 10:25 AM).] |

I loved this and it has brought me to think yes there might be some type of god. Me I think that there is a god what one or what he might be i don't know. Like allot of people that go to church on a Sunday or go to a mosk allot of them will tell you what they believe. I think that a person should have there own god. Believe in your own god as long as you lead a good life and are sorry for the things that you have done wrong then if there is a god he will see. Even though you have not gone to church and that you have been kind and loving to people then he can not fault you for that. In this day and age were there are so many religions to confuse I believe in my own way my own time. god will for give me for baring false idol if he sees every thing. Because he will no why i have done it |

Let us hope if there is an ultimate 'big stick' (s)he is more benevolent than the one I was told to obey. |

Don't sweat the small stuff... If it has been put into your heart to believe that HE IS...then why waste your breath on questions that can only be answered with speculation... Pardon me, but it appears that you already have a very long list of explanations in which your not buying into so I will exit without adding another... "God is a Spirit," maybe you'd like to try and define spirit for us..? Sending Prayers dale |
