This was written on her birthday and what I left at her grave..seems appropriate now as we bring a close to '07 (with still no justice)...

Dearest Chelsea,

Baby Girl your presence in this world is missed more than words can express.  We all long to have you and Matt back.  We turn our rage towards the one(s) that took you from us.  We will not rest until they pay.

My memories of you are far too few as she liked to keep you to herself and I was just a Mom after all.  But I remember your sweetness, your innocence.  The time you spent two weeks with us helping us move.  My heart bleeds for the pain this tragedy has caused.  She hurts every day missing you.  But you would be so happy for her.  She is strong and doing well despite the piece of her heart that is missing.

No one that knew you will ever forget you. You are the baby.  The baby of a group of friends so tight that not even death will tear you apart.  Every get together, big or small, you will be remembered.  They will tell funny stories of other times.  They will learn to laugh again with the memories of who you were and how much you are loved.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl.

With all my love,

Your best friends Mom.

Outline

I am traced
Smeared outline of what I use to be, this life has taken a turn I could have never foreseen
My skin tingles with anticipation of touch that never materializes
Transparent, a shadow of intention never quenched
I am lost in a world of invisible need

I miss you
My memory now serves as a taunting reminder
Of what has gone, a haunting detail tangible only in tears
Bleeding the sweet, screaming obscenities for its sacrifice
It shouldn’t have been like this

I believed
In something, that is just beyond my recognition
Knowing once it was identifiable, yet never real
Wanting it enough to think I could make it touchable, painless
It could have been so much more

I ache
For a viable solution, a counter offer to misery
An alternative to this hopeless destiny
A world with the you I love, a world in which no one leaves, lies, pretends or dies.
It would have been everything.

I hope that eventually they find out who did this so all of her friends and family can have peace in that knowledge that they are caught.

A beautiful tribute to two lives cut short.

There are no adequate words to express my condolences for the pain and suffering friends and family of Chelsea and Matt must endure.
May the new year offer solace, as well as justice.

I have no words, very emotional, very personal to you. I hope you find a peaceful place to look back, smile and remember the people they were.

Susan,

your daughter has taken one of the biggest
steps she will ever take in her lifetime;
and thank God for you, her biggest supporter
of memories.

Thank you, m'dear.

(((((Susan)))))

Your hearts bleed in sorrow. May you embrace what is and put your heads on God's shoulders for comfort.

Love and hugs.
