One Silent Night
by Linda L. Dowd

One silent night, when all was still,
in snowfall soft, I walked Church Hill.
Bathed in glow of lamplight shining,
shone Tudor homes with ivy twining.
The cedar boughs ~ hung low with snow,
were lit with lights that made them glow.
The air was sweet and fresh to breathe,
~ each door was hung with Christmas wreathe.
Gray plumes of smoke rose in the air,
from homes of olde down lane way fair.
A peaceful scene ~ serene and lush,
this Christmas Eve of calming hush.
A Currier & Ives picture card,
~ to inspire the quill of any bard.

One silent night, when all was still,
in snowfall soft, I walked Church Hill.

I feel a calming hush coming over me.  Pure magic Dear Linda!   I love the music too.  I'd love to get my hands on it

Love,

Tink

My dear Linda Angel, you pen exactly what I miss so much here where I almost never see/experience snow.

Thank you, most beautiful soul, for immersing me in this magical hushed sacred atmosphere! The sound of your heart/voice adds to the expanding feeling of peace and harmony.

All my love and Merry Christmas!

Love and hugs.
Margherita

Marvelous Margrit Margherita ~

I too, would miss the snow ~ especially at Christmas time. It makes me happy that my post was able to lend a "magical hushed sacred atmosphere" to you, divine poetess.

~ You write the sweetest comments, and they are always enjoyed and appreciated.

Love & CHRIST-mas Light,

James ~

If my poem was able to give you a measure of "joy", then I am only returning some of the joy that you spread with your love-ly poetry.

Merry Christmas to you, Hawaii Man!

Love & CHRIST-mas Light,

Linda

Linda - I think I'd like to experience a white Christmas before my time is up.  We are sweltering in the heat at the moment so the idea is more than appealing.  You have lovely silent nights, Linda!

Bunches of Honey ~

Christmas is even more magical when there is a winter wonderland outside. The snow glows from the Christmas lights and from the carriage lamps that line our Drive.

I don't like the heat at the best of times. I think I am part polar bear. lol So, this cold spell suits me fine.

May you see snow before you "go"!

Blessings of love and joy to you, my SA friend!

Back to the top with you! So everyone can adore this as much as I do! If I could I'd stay on Church Hill and snuggle up with a nice hot cup of cocoa. Doesn't hurt to dream

Ceinwyn/Kris/Tink ~ Sounds like a plan! I'll bring the hot chocolate (with lots of marshmallows on top!!!) and I'll meet you on Church Hill. You bring a comforter and we can meditate together and drink in the tranquility of the scene! Gosh, I feel more at peace already. It's been a wonderful Christ-mas, but I'm tuckered out from all the hustle and bustle.

Loves 'n hugs ~ and peace & tranquility

Linda
