‘tis the sweet emotion, passion that swims the deepest depths and only rises to the call of energetic needs. Yet calls are softer now muffled by withdrawal and ladders to the surface broken in the manner of love’s most certain death. But I can hear it calling in the dawn of memory that breaks upon the stillness like explosive bombs and uproots again the buried into the light of day. Passion rises yet it sinks fathoms deep beneath the feel waiting in the knowing that sweet emotions too can drown when left swimming so like fish denied a rise for air. So passion sighs and gurgles more and flays out unrestrained at self-imposed controls like well cemented walls in the deepest depths. Passion, sweet, sweet, passion, take my hand but you can’t reach without the aid of love and I write today your eulogy! Helen / 20 December 2007 |

"Passion, sweet, sweet, passion, take my hand but you can’t reach without the aid of love and I write today your eulogy" ~ For me as well, there has to be love first, if there is to be passion to follow ~ and when a love does die, so too, does the passion. It is a painful process to write the eulogy of a love. However, a new one seems to appear in one's life when least expected! ![]() Your poetry always touches me on some level, Dear Poetess. May you be loved, as you do love. Linda ![]() |

Helen~ 'I can hear it calling in the dawn of memory' Ah, yes ... tucked in among the memories are some exquisite thoughts of love~ *Huglets* ![]() ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Thank you kind Linda. I've heard it said that the best things come to those who don't expect anything but for every viewpoint there is an opposite one. Maybe in the long run it is better to love than be loved but I really don't know. Thank you, Marge. Yes, so very many good things are tucked away and it is a pity when they are forced to remain out of sight. |

It was wonderfully done, with great expression of emotion. Passion, sweet, sweet, passion, take my hand but you can’t reach without the aid of love and I write today your eulogy! Amazing |

Thank you dear poets for your comments. What was is gone and the new awaits but I'm not convinced that there can ever be anything better to replace "passion" because it is the maker of so much - the good and unfortunately the bad as well. |
