Void you were, inside my mind, for days, months, then you came, like a ghost, with white mist, flowing through, my deep sleep, a memory yet to be? a brief encounter, but so surreal, I could hear, Our laughter, as I was laying close beside you, touching your hair, my arms enfolded, all around you, you were holding something in your hands, photos, making me laugh, mocking me, making fun, happiness and laughter, the smell of your hair, my arms, never wanting to let you go, your face was without glasses, As someone was, driving us somewhere, on a sunny winter day, We were laying down, covered in gray covers, blue-jean jackets on, I remember introducing you, to the driver, as if, someone I felt happy telling, You came into my dream, because you were thinking of me last night, You wanted to connect, just like the fox, sneaking in, You touched my soul, leaving your footprints, across my mind. J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.” |

"You touched my soul, leaving your footprints, across my mind." What a true statment. The ones that impact our lives do leave a mark footprints in our minds. They leave us with the best of them. |

Very nice poem. I am new here. Hi to all. Is this a personal poem? Does everyone on here write mostly of personal things? I have been reading several posts and they all seem personal. I can write fiction to, no? |

This is very lovely. Just beautiful. --- And yes, many of us write personal - fiction - I think many of us just write for the joy of expression. Again, welcome. A |

ARH... Sometimes the most beautiful and strongest encounters are fleeting. But, ah, the memories can last an eternity. (sigh) You know not how this touched me and made me dwell upon the words. Well said, Milady. MoonShadow . |

Thanks so much for your kind words and picture about "In Another Life..." - really encouraging! I thought I'd return the favour, and simply loved this poem, especially the last three lines: You touched my soul, leaving your footprints, across my mind I loved the ease with which you used classic romantic imagery whilst at the same time citing the stuff of modern life. Really connected with me!! Gonna read some more now... |

"You came into my dream, because you were thinking of me last night, You wanted to connect, just like the fox, sneaking in, You touched my soul, leaving your footprints, across my mind." Such a compelling read. Love these last three verses JL Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. |
