The Importance of Love

You’ve been the best part of my life
The serene dreams you’ve given
Though my life seems filled with strife
I want to go on living

Living my life day by day
Without you here seems to be
A hard fight and a struggle
I just wish you could see

How you make me feel when you leave
For the night with friends out of sight
From my minds eye and the panic I feel
Makes my insides hurt and fight

With each other, my arms tremble
And my heart aches, the sadness
I feel all over won’t go away
I just want to sleep... Sleep away the madness

My shoulders become tense from stress
Of thinking of you and others
Having fun, holding hands and cuddling
At my expense, the hurt it... It smothers

My mind as it shuts down
And moves away from you
Then dawn approaches
I couldn’t sleep, the dread moves to

My soul... Withdrawal sets in
Thousands of visions flooding my thoughts
I can’t concentrate... Knowing you’re there
This time away, this space you need but at what cost

I can’t take much more, it hurt’s
Loneliness, the emotional mess I’m part of
Spend our days with your friends
But don’t forget the importance of love

Better to die, and sleep
The never-waking sleep, than linger on
And dare to live when the souls life is gone.
