. It’s Autumn October Again There’s a wondrous mix Of colors to be seen Pale blue The cool air rustles leaves Whispering bits of poetry To anyone who cares to hear A fox squirrel scampers about Burying acorns in the ground With outspread wings a pair of geese Glides over the water’s surface A trout jumps up Then disappears So here’s another Year we didn’t share Making memories For our evening hours A church bell tolls As the sun descends Slowly below the horizon line And an amber moon Begins its trek Reflecting light yet vacuous Through those first though faint Pocked with indifference My God you were stupid Stars . |
