I am from where muddy water meets white sand.
Where the tall grass holds back the sea.
Where cypress holds up the sky
and the river rises to meet the rain.

Oh, this smacks of cajun spice and Harlequin romance. Nicely done.

Oh...this is beautiful.  I just read it to my youngest daughter (she is 8 years old) and she thought your words so beautiful, as well.

Thank you so much!

I've read some middle sized poems
on this challenge...
and some very long ones,
some very intricate
some very emotional...

but not one as short, and
intricately put
as yours.

Thank you, Sir,
for accepting and mounting
the challenge.

Well done!

Bold write.
So much strength.
So much "holding up" and "rising to meet"
in such a short, poignant piece.

Reminds me of The Everglades..much appreciated imagery.

I'm impressed!  You leave me wanting more and I love it when poetry does that for me.
