I am from a not quite
middle rung.
Here for another go round.
A mission to be more
than the last
slip of tongue.

A seed sprouted
by less than me.
A rung or two below
an understanding
of whom I’m meant to be.

I am fire and earth combined.
Passion and nurturer
intertwined.

I feel more than see.
From a distance
or not
it’s where I’m from.
A power from within
the finer depths of me.

And the depths of you, Susan, is a truly beautiful place.  I really enjoyed your offering for the challenge, as always, you exceed.  Nicely done lady.

a fine response to the 'poetic challenge' from an excellent author!...

I suspect that we ALL are at least...

"A rung or two below
an understanding
of whom I’m meant to be(!)"

MUCH applause for this 'write!'

~ Susan, that is a pretty nice combo!

"I feel more than see."

~ and you relay that ability into fine poetry.

I enjoyed your answering poem to Patricia's challenge.

Yep, 'passion and nurturer' is an apt descriptor from what I know of you by your poetry! A wonderful challenge response.

on "a mission to be more than the last slip of tongue"  Oh, have you ever captured an ocean in a thimble!  Excellent, and I relate!

And this:

"I am fire and earth combined.
Passion and nurturer
intertwined."

Ahhhh.  Lovely.
