Listening to every heart

0 posted 2007-12-03 02:16 PM

Put a color to the wind,
make it deep with harsh
overtones
as the last moments of November
are rushed

so that December might find hold
as splintered slivers of ice,
silver-edged,
in some grace of space
between window
and pane.

Old windows, like the shadows and cobwebs of my mind...

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

SIL, I think I looked out that window at my mother's old farm house in Ohio many years ago.  I surely do not miss those icy winters when the wind is howling.  (That's the image I saw here.)  *hugs*....jo

"in some grace of space

~ Only a poetess with an eye such as yours, could capture that space with such grace.

Beautiful description of the sharp cold--couldn't help but shiver at the slivers of ice. Great time to be inside looking out...and you said it so well!

interesting 'write!'

I am particularly fond of the ending:

"December might find hold
as splintered slivers of ice,
silver-edged,
in some grace of space
between window
and pane"

Applause!!

Thank you, everyone. This is dedicated to my friends' farm house, out in the middle of nature and wheat fields. Nothing sounds quite like a winter wind in an old farm house...

warm

this year went by so fast

a thought-provoking poem here...and I might share my thoughts when I can get them together...just feelings now, the poem brought about for me, feelings I can't quite put into word form just yet

James, a second read is a gift...

Dixie...we are so glad you've come home. Things will go right, from here on in.

Yes, I know.
