I held her feeble hand
forced a gaze into fading, blue eyes
tubes, needles and a numbing machine
clicking down the hours, minutes
until coffin lids cover blue
and memories become sanctuary
of terra firma days;
warm hands
bright eyes
and laughter

Oh Robert...I've been in these shoes.
Thank you for placing it down in the blue halls
with such tenderness.

A sacred moment, poignantly rendered.

Robert, I could feel your words~~~

sighing for those we have lost and for those in the future. It is definitely hard getting older knowing the inevitable is always there.

  Good to read you~~

I think

"warm hands
bright eyes
and laughter"

is our legacy

And you wrote it well, Robert.

I've been there, Robert. You wrote beautifully about a difficult subject.
