I am aloof then when the morning sun comes by and waits warmly at my window and you step over my eyes with the whispering of perhaps I am a stranger then when the ocean speaks softly from her distant edges and you cover my ears with fantasy fingerings I am a dreamer then when the mountains lean low and their shadows reach my mind but your breasts are there keeping my thoughts shaded I am a gypsy then when the hounds are lapping at my ankles wanting their mastering but you tease me with panting and pretend your animal has urges I am kept undone then when you keep me wanting more of your sigh less sky without even a cloud to bruise me it is then that I am too distant and on tomorrow I must forget you ____________ daark |
