Seymour Entitled

I wondered beyond the wall
of the shadows gardens,
if there is a world
in shades of green
waiting for the best of me
to capture that bit of love
that still lives
within the dragon
of me.

In the mire of retire
I kissed her in a phantom's walk,
zany words and moments of you, my love,
painting a child's past
with shades of metaphor.

A pebble in my shoe
reminds me of my daughters,
of their dancing in the dark,
under the tree of dreams.
From where I stand, I've set my eyes to then,
when time stands still and a length of a sigh
pulls me through the air
to float my emotions into yesterday,
knowing it's the little things,
that smile me a treasure...

that in the arms of dream,
I have you in the dance of marriage,
that you are my daily soup, the bubbling stream
that keeps me from floundering,
always stretching and questioning
to reach my poetic wake.

I touch a hand,
and hear sweet melodies each night,
and in this world of time
know the powers of possibility,
the wings of the mind
and take flight
to sail the rainbow's end.

M
*thinking of you, waiting for your morning wake

Martie, all of these words are just some of the titles of Sy's most recent poems...

I miss his words and thought maybe this would help to bring him back...

Thank you

Absolutely beautiful, and what a clever way to highlight one of the greatest poets ever to grace this site.  Our dear Sir Sy is indeed worth honoring and you did it so well Maureen, using his titles so beautifully.  Me thinks his dragon is a little dragging these days so it is nice for you to remind us to read the archives.

Sharon, I only briefly touched the many titles of Seymour's poems. Even his titles are poetic~~ and I hope Sy, is feeling a little better each day.

Thank you,
Maureen

interesting 'write!'...

I am particularly fond of:

"...then,
when time stands still and a length of a sigh
pulls me through the air
to float my emotions into yesterday,
knowing it's the little things,
that smile me a treasure(!)..."

applause!

You did an excellent job here, Maureen. Sy won't be available to see it before the middle of next week but I'll be sure he does and I have no doubt he will be very appreciative of your thoughtfulness and ability.

Bruce,  sometimes we call Seymour, Sy  or even (Sigh). We miss his daily morning  poems of wisdom, wit and rhyme.

These words are some of the most recent titles of his poems, which when put together  can give you some of the heart of this wonderful poet. (check the archives)

Michael, thank you. I was hoping to light a small fire under Sy, to let him know how much we appreciate him and that many of us are awaiting his return.

So lovely Maureen.
Only you could take the titles and weave them into this beautiful piece.

I miss mornings of rushing to the computer to see what Sy has left for us to ponder, or swoon over.

Thank you for this..
and for being you...the beautiful thoughtful person you are.

Naked Thoughts,  how very nice of you to write this. It is beautiful and took a lot of thinking. Dear Sy will certainly appreciate this. Orchids and red balloons to you. Along with a hug and special pat on that writing hand."late"
