Male or Female

Looking back on times long gone
And of the different things that be,
The gender of ships we look upon
As wearing the female title— she.

When they first received that female term,
I’m quite sure that no one knows,
The cry that she’s listed bad to stern
Or Captain, she’s as steady as she goes.

Computer scientists in recent poll,
All were male—- or so they say,
Reckon computers play the female roll
In all their intellectual display.

For this conclusion, reason demands
After so many hours of thought,
That no one but the creator understands
The internal logic that they’ve brought.

The language used to communicate
With other computers baffles all,
The message wrong command or eradicate
Will, with some of us some fear install.

When you make some small mistake
And at the time you feel quite peeved,
It’s place in memories bank will take
And at some later date retrieved.

To computer, when you a commitment make,
And it’s a fact that you can’t ignore it,
Half your income they’re sure to take
As you buy all those accessories for it.

When these words of wisdom you may seek
Of the way computers rule your life,
To them both, the resemblance is unique
When you compare them to your wife.

I really enjoyed this one...
But I believe that the special kind of madness that Computer tend to display is all of a male thing and also their tendency to misunderstand is totally a male's behavior.

I am not quite sure I would say that my wife is like a computer. She has a head for figures but a temperment that is distinctly female.
