"The Trinity" We are plagued by forces dark That prey upon humanity, Immoral creatures full of wrath An evil, heartless trinity The first is Time, which forces us To rush along this road of life As callously against our throats It holds its power, like a knife And when we finally realize That we are meant for nothing great Dark Sorrow chooses then to come And clouds our lives with dread and hate Now blind and hopeless, full of fear We rush toward our finality, A woeful ending known as death, A "gift" from dear Mortality I've heard of "Hope" and "Joy" and "Light" Though ever they've eluded me, And I'd give all to only know The touch of their serenity AMdG "My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--it gives a lovely light!" -Edna St. Vincent Millay |

You write with such elegance... the only trinity I have ever known dissolves these three vicarious waifs. Your ending line is wonderful. |
