Autumn Evening Rustic Red

Burnish leaves align the lawn
Intrepidly, as soft winds fawn
Against the passing warbler call
No, nothing more requires fall

A steaming cup revives my eyes
Allowed to focus each surprise
The air turns hue of rustic red
No, nothing more remains unsaid

These hands at rest take in repose
Each dampened breath to shadow blows
As if by rite, the seasons praise
No, nothing more left long to days

‘Neath blanket gray, the night will come
Then taken stock all weight and sum
A lingered look takes heart and soul
No, nothing more requires fall

this poem is written in a tone of the poet at peace with what is timely and seasonal.

TD, there is something so special about your poetry. ~ Correction, there are MANY things that are special about your poetry! ~ and as you can see by the comments that your readers have written, I am not alone in that assumption!

Another calming, gracious penning ~ and highly descriptive!

Loving hug,

very pretty. I love fall, it's my second favorite season (I'm always longing for spring though...especially when there's snow outside, like today).
Warm feelings here to fight the cold weather.

Hello my friend
how have you been
a comment you lend
a smile you reap then
a dash of cheer to blend
a sprinkle of joy to mend
two parts love made ya grin
a snow flake of peace thrown in
Its the holiday brew from me to you
