             After all this time, One


             day will come when we will never meet
             day after we wonder how long we will wait
             day before someone else will make an announcement

             day when the mail can no longer be delivered
             day when the beauty of it is dulled by its darkness
             day when all the pen's colors begin to fade

             regretful one of us will be left to feel
             sorry that things did not turn differently
             emptied of voices that asked for so much more
