will it be another velvet morning
when my eyes would look underneath horizons
for the limbs of lady tree in her leaveless gown

while the footprints of your stranger, friday
in this desertion of my metropolitan isle
baths the wicked end of agony's urges

by the handfuls polishing a magic lamp
with the salvation of manful dreaming
and would we worship our side skin cashmere

just for the pleasure of the other's gods
and the eyes of another wanting another
without the binding leather of love songs

or dare I dream we are both oceans

Hello, Stranger!

A poetic treat from:

"will it be another velvet morning
when my eyes would look underneath horizons
for the limbs of lady tree in her leaveless gown"

...all the way down to your intriguing closing lines:

"or dare I dream we are both oceans"

I say, "dare to dream"!

Velvet words, D.  They drift with the darkness that peers in my windows on this early morning.  Lovely way to slowly begin my day.

A borrowing from Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra?

"Some velvet morning when I'm straight,
I'm gonna open up your gate, "

Happens all the time.

Best, Jim

friend illusive, thank you for the eyes and the reply.

friend oceanvu2..I would think velvet mornings predate them..but Mr Hazelwood did use some remarkable images in his lyrics.  Thank you for the read

This one slipped me by and it was well worth the diving!

Yes, dare to dream always ... it adds so much charm to our lives.

Wonderful!

Love,
Margherita
