When I look in the mirror, I’m older I see But that’s the reward years have given to me I still have the urges and thoughts of my youth But ponder this vision, reflecting my truth My hair has turned grey and my strength’s not the same My outlook is different, but no one’s to blame I’ve matured from childhood, but still tend to dream And wonder quite often of places I’ve been I’ve lived to life’s wanting and mostly had fun I’ve dreamed and I’ve prayed for some things to be done I’ve smiled through my life, seen much in those times Found strength when was needed and followed the signs I’ve not got the fortune I’d wished for each week But find I have riches that many do seek I still have my health and a place to call home A heart that holds hope and thoughts that have grown I look in the mirror and happy to see A person still wanting and needing to be For though I get older in body and view I’m happy to be here with so much to do |
