Beyond the Mirror

My thoughts travel
through and beyond,
wondering when those feelings
will rise to the occasion.

The passing of time
resonates in loneliness,
leaving one to capture
a reflection in thought.

Still, the warmth of memories
comforts my will
and revives the discipline needed
to cover the scars of the past,

to change false hopes
into dreams of reality,
to leave the old view behind
and begin again to see
that patience is a virtue...

and that beyond the mirror,
there is truth.

Guess I should say "how depressing it was to
find how there was nothing on the other side
of that mirror." (That wasn't here already)

I think I would have used a different word
here instead of "truth" (maybe "reality") I
don't know. But,,, truth. All I'm saying is,
I've looked beyond, and not found truth.
