      what I ‘believe’ (II)

The grandest ‘cathedral’
has vast, velvet walls
of deep-forest green,
and a sun-lit ceiling
of finest azure...

where I may walk and dream…
  forever...
longing to taste the clouds,
or to ride cosmic-ripples
across endless oceans
  of deepest Time,
in perfect harmony...
with the infinite 'healing-spirit'
of this magnificent Universe...
(that is but one among many!)

One universe among many...Such beauty and power for us to explore and enjoy beyond the this blue planet so gracious to bear our lives.  Creation resounds in the imagery and reflections of your poem.  I love the peace of it, which seems beyond man's capacity to treasure.  Maybe we will get there one day.... ~ KL

Perhaps Wm C Bryant was the first American writer to view forests as cathedrals in his 1895 poem “A Forest Hymn.” He encouraged us to “Enter this wild wood And View the haunts of Nature. The calm shade Shall bring a kindred calm, and the sweet breeze That makes the green leaves dance, shall waft a balm To thy sick heart.”

Poet, your tributes to the forest, nature and the connectedness of all living things are so in concert with the best writing in this subject area, from Thoreau to Don McLean's Tapestry and beyond.

This poem is beyond beautiful , Bruce and reflects what I believe also. In fact I posted a poem called "God's Temple" when I first came on this site that is similar to but not nearly as lovely as this.

I perceive it. This is very beautiful, Bruce, and finds me perfectly attuned.

Love,
