   Fall Impression

Shuffling through
crisp-frosted
rainbow leaves

Lofting plumes
of wood smoke
  and dreams

chimes echoing
in the breeze
and dapple-sun

deep-chilled air…
‘piping for the
blood to dance’

Fine Summer memories
and Winter fears…
bookends for
  Autumn reveries!

Honestly, Bruce, I could read your poetry all day long. It makes me feeeel good! You capture the essence of autumn and I appreciate how well you can relay to your readers.

Giving you a warm, autumnal hug,

Linda

I savor strolls through Autumn's resplendent palette, and this poem guides my mind along such a path, through dappled sunlight.

Ohhhhh!!  This makes me homesick again!
Beautifully written, I can almost smell those leaves...

Bruce,

This is as succinct as I would like to see
on a crisp fall day; something that would
echo in my ears as I skiff along the leaves
that lay golden and bronze before me.

And then I hear the ice tones of what is to
come, as the breeze crisps my cheeks, the
winds slow my bones....

This...is the dance of fall...

Thank you!

Bruce

Your poetry continues to delight me with the beauty that you paint.  Thank you for this on a dark winter night - I love fall.  It is so fleeting here.
