Hands are clasped in my submission, Chords cut loose to deities, Unheard whimpers in this prison A pin amid cacophonies. Bruises breed amid lost brothers, Hollow eyes front broken minds Kissed by boots but not by mothers, Blessed in death, by His designs Bamboo batons play their madness On the bloody and abused. Ten thousand miles beyond mere sadness And twice that past confused. Night and darkness bring the reapers, Deaths’ harbingers; fur lined cravats, Weaving corpses from the weepers Those meek inheritors, the rats. Sleep just brings forgotten faces, How could my memory cheat me so? A family lost, familiar places Blur more each day, then fade, then go. Are we forgotten blurred or fading, Forlorn carved names upon a wall? Or has the last post past parading Missing soldiers yet to fall. "There's a blaze of light in every word |

Sometimes, I feel the hairs rising on my arms as I read... This was one of those times. Superb! |
