the folds of black and
the day are all prearranged
and I have been ushered to
to front row seating

it is a dream
it must be a dream

but not it can't be for
I am crying
the tears have a will of their own
they scream thirty three
this year you are
thirty three

but there will be no cake
no favorites of yours
steaming on the stove
on this bleek day
my store of hope is emptied

the dream of you coming back
has fled and in its place
the emptiness contends
that you once were mine

the day awoke clothed in grief
but no it isn't a dream
it can't be a dream
for I am crying

I wish it were a dream, too. ~ Just a bad, bad dream. I am so sorry for your loss. From what I can gather from your tortured words, is that an adult child of yours, has passed away.

Words cannot adequately express the depth of the sympathy that I am feeling.

My heart breaks for you luminosity. My daughter passed away at 34 and I have many of the days you describe. A heartfelt hug for you.

If not for God given glue, and the ability to tack the pain to paper...sigh...and poets to read with such compassion...I do not think I could have coped...

Oh, sweet lady... if only this was a nightmare from which you could wake... Some gifts are taken from us far too soon and our grief almost overwhelms the gratitude that our lives were once so blessed.
