MartyJo~

When it comes to baking time
I find that I am making time
Mixing the ingredients swell
Creating such Heavenly smell

hmmmm ... I'd surely love to taste your cakes, dear Marge!

But then, pictures and words are compensating very well, I must say!

Beautiful!

Love and hugs.

I have tasted the variety depicted in the top photo ~ but have only eaten them raw and have never tasted them in baked goods. Yummy indeed, I would wager!

I miss the fruit trees and bushes we had in our backyard ~ pears, apples, peaches, plums, raspberries, black currents, blackberries, gooseberries ...

Another enjoyable post! A feast for the palate ~ and eyes!

Persimmons are an unknown to me.  In the market they are not fit to eat.  If your cake is as good as your wonderful pictures and words, I would like a taste please.  Love, Joyce

Dear Marge: If they taste as good as they look, they must be a treat! I have never tasted one as when I see them in the market, they do not look like these!!

Totally unknown fruits to me (are they fruits?), but they look delicious and I'm sure they taste delicious, specially when it's made by you.
Hugs, Titia

I am SO PLEASED to share these beauties with you all~

Bill and I placed 30 trees in the landscape about three years ago ... they are doing beauitfully~

These are of the Japanese varieties and we have the Hachiya (top photo), the Fuyu (bottom photo), and the Saijo (which hasn't ripened yet)~

They all usually ripen between September and October ... a few make it to November~

The Fuyu can be eaten like an apple, or ripened to a softer consitency to use for the cakes that I make, the others ripen to a softer texture and are can be eaten raw or squished and added to the Persimmon Cakes~

We usually have folks BEGGING for just a 'few' of them ...~
And a few frinds get a cake !!

DELICIOUS THEY ARE~

TITIA~ ... next year ?
You can come pick your own !
YES ? ... YES !
