Don’t come “The Old Soldier” with me There’s plenty would fit in your boots Our job is the same to keep us all free Most “Civies” they don’t give a hoot Home in Blighty do you think they care Where all is so calm and content Fighting the battle with TV and Armchair Or crying over the monies we spent Our job is easy just follow the rules We must try to protect and not kill You have both weapon and shell dressing Take two aspirins if you should feel ill Think of your mother wife and the kid’s The rest they can all go to hell Get up and fight and we might have a chance Or "By Heck" you will join them as well Eric [This message has been edited by Fairplay (10-02-2007 04:17 PM).] |

This has good rhyme and metre... Nobody does it better than the English. I think it has something to do with the funny accents you all have. ![]() a good commitee can decimate communication. |

"Home in Blighty do you think they care Where all is so calm and content Fighting the battle with TV and Armchair Or crying over the monies we spent" The very reason we do, and die if need be, so the complaining few can spit and spew. How else would we know we've done a good job or not. If they weren’t there doing as they do, they too would be dead, or worse serving their new masters. Ea?
