What Is a Cowboy? |

What is a cowboy? I’ve wondered myself- I couldn’t explain if I tried. He’s about five foot-six, or maybe six-three, Of gumption, hard-headed, and pride. He’ll work when he’s hurt, and laugh at the pain- He’ll give you the shirt off his back… He’ll pull his own weight, and some of your’s, too. In a tight he will take up your slack. He’ll laugh at the Devil, and scoff at the risk- Strap spurs to the heels of his boots- And drop down astride a full ton of bull, In some small town show’s buckin’ chutes. He’ll buy you a beer, or lend you a stake, Or fight, if you push him too far. He’s far more at home on the hurricane deck, Of a bronc, than a pickup or car. I’ve heard people say he’s a vanishing breed. I kinda suspect that’s a “load”- ‘Cause most of the cowhands that I ever met- Just couldn’t be seen from the road. What is a cowboy? I’m not really sure… I reckon it’s more than a name. And I used to be one, at heart I still am- I can say it without any shame. |

"And I used to be one, at heart I still am- I can say it without any shame." ~ Stand tall and proud, cowboy! Gosh, methinks I'd like to get me one of 'em! Earthy One |

I am glad they are still around. I have always had a thing for men in worn out cowboy boots, faded levis and a strong work ethic. I enjoyed. A |
