Branches Peruse of perfect Saturday scant ember once began Let the dust of sunset fall on outstretched limbs, these whims of man As gathered starlight time embossed on velvet canvas lay Made still as patchwork leaves are lit, bejeweled each coming day Dried twig may break in lonely drone, pedestrian belie Sight seen lift up above the measured moan Night Heron’s sigh Appointed arms that single out in sway fates artist brush Closed down the throat in every note steeped tea emotions hush Yet anchored in the ease of traded history roots trunk The gloss of Ibis wings recalled and trace in inkling surface sunk From metered landscapes changed and new, upon the woodland edge As dust of sunset falls the limbs but soul sounds still converse in hedge The trees have lingered waiting here, their fingers stretched bestows In rooted wishes standing guard, a butler’s armoire for our clothes Then lay with me beneath the shelter of September’s charms And always be the love in me, ‘neath branches, in my arms Copyright Kkh 9/22/07 |

Fine imagery here! I am particularly fond of: “the dust of sunset”; “gathered starlight time embossed on velvet…”; “The trees have lingered waiting here, their fingers stretched… In rooted wishes….”; “Then lay with me beneath the shelter of September’s charms And always be the love in me(!)” Applause! |

"The trees have lingered waiting here, their fingers stretched bestows In rooted wishes standing guard, a butler’s armoire for our clothes Then lay with me beneath the shelter of September’s charms And always be the love in me, ‘neath branches, in my arms" Very sweet. Great read TD. JL ![]() Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. |
