Believe When days became first months and then a year, Did you believe our love would slowly wane, That with the death of love we’d share a tear, To bid adieu the joys we’d known in vane? Were these just lies, these fading memories, Of love professed, eternal, true and pure, That disappear as wind through fallen leaves, From barren trees whose beauty once was sure? No my Sweet, let baseless fears be vanquished, Remember times we’ve melded soul to soul. When first your lustful lips were fully kissed, My heart became a pawn in your control. While in my arms or while you softly dream, Believe our love is everything it seems. |

Nice writing...Sadly sometimes love is just words, without the feelings, desires and the action...James |

"While in my arms or while you softly dream, Believe our love is everything it seems." ~ I literally sighed when I read the closing lines to this very touching poem. The apparent sincerity of your words would certainly make believing in your love, much easier! Lovely penning. EA P.S. I like happy endings (to poems et al)! :angels: |
