A Peace Less of a Dream Today thinks fondly of yesterday Like a lover embracing that lonely pillow Soon to realize tomorrow was never meant As precaution cautiously breezes through the window Mixed with the smells of sulfur and never morrow Flowing into the nostrils of angels and men alike Who await with happiness and butterflies The sounds of death and slumber When the final battle of men and souls are lost To jealousy and unforgiveness The rights of which were never earned But still we judge and decide with limited knowledge Thinking us smarter than we truly are For even an infant can destroy a toy With little thought of you and me So here we are at last Finally getting it! Finally getting over ourselves But now it is too late As the whistles and horns blow And in every hand the bible And under every breath a song Singing to those same whistles and horns Not sure if the end of it all is manmade Or heavenly kissed without forgiveness.
