One suspects some are weary of these thoughts of you, and doubt-swift memories that abound …but still, some and most are patient, kind, allowing me to explore and express this forever love. When each anniversary arrives [the Sound of Music plays] on the exact date and morning of your demise, it is then I arise, and wait for the sound of seven, over steaming dark coffee and an even earlier memory of pancakes, and it is as if [you had held me, close, in the first days] I feel your soul once again, as I did then, rising high, but hovering still, and for all who were there, I see them as they were then, holding one another. No, your passing wasn’t a quiet time, and for all who weren’t there, who came soon enough, later, to bear the emotional burden; and it is now how it was then, in this gray head, they are all with me, all of them, mother, brother, sister, husband, daughters, familiar faces, generations gathering, as they were, whole and family. Almost as if in the end, father, and even today, you brought then, as now, a reminder of Mr. Chips, who had told his boys he would always remember them, as they were, his boys, while he would get older, no matter, they would stay young; he hoped they would visit him, someday, and while he may not recognize them at that time, he would remember them, always, as they were, … and I visit you now, this eve [to the Sound of Music {and you loved them, loved them all}] and again this day [did God give a time?] in the early morn, but know I have never stopped believing that you are with me here, always, with your forever love. " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love ~*~ KRJ |

Dear Karilea, it's uplifting to hear the voice of your heart remembering in such devoted and tender way the forever love that connects you and your father. So very beautiful. Love, Margherita |

Oh how beautiful these memories we hold dear of our loved ones. Me thinks he sees this and smiles Ruth I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |

Karilea what a beautiful tender render of reflection on your father's love and your love for him and the family too. Those memories are much more precious than the world's finest gold or any other material things...... Eric |

I have been having a difficult time writing a response to your tender reminisce of your Papa. As you may recall, my Mom died last June and my Dad followed her four weeks later. Your loving poem literally has moved me to tears. Thank you, I needed that. I have kept many of my emotions bottled up, and I needed this cry. If you do not mind, I would like to save this poem for when I need this sweet release of pent up emotions. Love to you, Sun Light, Linda |

How very, very precious, SIL. As I was reading, I was reminded of the first piece of music my Dad bought for me as a Christmas present. You guessed it....it was a collection of easy-to-play piano arrangements from The Sound of Music. Oh...how we do miss our loved ones and how I wish they knew my children, or that my children knew them. I have a feeling, somehow he does know...but it saddens me that they never knew him. Big hug to you, dear friend. ....jo |

Sunshine they are beautiful words, all fathers should read them. As a father I enjoyed that poem immensely. Written with a genuine love for your Dad. Great poem. LindsayP |
